These ceremonies offer choice to individuals and families that may not require a religious event. We can offer the following civil ceremonies, which can be held in registration offices, approved hotels or in private venues such as your own home or garden. - MARRIAGE -CIVIL PARTNERSHIP -MARRIAGE OR CIVIL PARTNERSHIP CELEBRATION - RENEWAL OF VOWS - NAMING - CIVIL FUNERAL - COMMITMENT If you would like more details on any of the ceremonies above, you should contact The Register Office in Beverley (details listed below) or have a look on the A-Z page or our website. Our civil ceremonies (apart from marriage) have no legal status, but they do provide the opportunity to celebrate special events, strengthen family ties and values and place importance on key life events. |

Click here to access Registrar General`s website MARRIAGE OR CIVIL PARTNERSHIP CELEBRATION These bespoke ceremonies follow on from a very short registration procedure at the registration office. The ceremonies can be held anywhere indoors or outdoors subject to a satisfactory venue assessment. Couples can tailor ceremonies to include readings and music, and involve family and friends. A professionally trained celebrant will help you arrange and conduct the ceremony. RENEWAL OF VOWS These are perfect for couples who have entered nto a marriage or civil partnership abraod and wish to celebrate their union with family and friends upon their return. Or they may simply be appropriate for couples who just want to renew their commitment to each other. These ceremonies are sometimes held at important anniversaries or after difficult relationship periods. Couples can tailor ceremonies to include readings and music, and involve family and friends. A professionally trained celebrant will help you arrange and conduct the ceremony. NAMING CEREMONIES These ceremonies enable parents to celebrate a new arrival or welcome into the family the arrival of adopted or step children. It is a chance for family and friends to pledge support and commitment to the child. You can tailor ceremonies to include readings and music, and involve family and friends, gifts may also be exchanged. A professionally trained celebrant will help you arrange and conduct the ceremony. CIVIL FUNERALS A civil funeral ceremony reflects the wishes of the family and is focused on celebrating the life of the deceased. It is both a dignified tribute and highly personal memoir, created and presented by a professionally trained celebrant. The celebrant will consult closely with you, the family or the executor at all stages of the process. These usually take place at local crematoria, however these ceremonies could be held at any other suitable venue. COMMITMENT CEREMONIES These ceremonies offer couples of both the opposite and same sex to make a commitment to each other, in front of invited family and friends. There is no legal status attached to these ceremonies, however a Civil Partnership registration may be incorporated into the ceremony. CITIZENSHIP CEREMONIES These ceremonies form part of the nationalisation process where eligible immigrants pledge their allegiance to the Crown. Our fees include all discussions prior to the ceremony, the preparation of the ceremony to your instruction, the delivery of the ceremony including the celebrant`s time and travel expenses and a printed copy of the Order of Ceremony.
