Blue bins are for the collection of recyclable materials which includes tins (steel and aluminium), plastic bottles (grades one, two and three, as indicated by the number in the triangle on the base of the bottle) and paper, including newspapers and magazines; white envelopes; telephone directories and yellow pages. Please present your bin for 7am on the day of collection

Refuse collection day searchTo check your refuse and recycling collection days please use the postcode search link below. Calendars for each wheeled bin collection service can be accessed from the link. Refuse Collection Postcode Search Updated Text message reminderResidents can subscribe to receive a free mobile phone text message service the night before their blue bin collection day to remind them to put the blue bin out. Residents should text the word blue, followed by the 2 digits shown (e.g. Blue11 with no spaces) from the top left hand side on their calendar to 07786 200401. The code is related to the calendar number - for example residents on calender 1 need to text blue01. To cancel the service text STOP to this number. Any problems with the service please phone the recycling hotline on (01482) 395586. Bagging tipsShredded paper should be wrapped in sheets of newspaper or bagged, because if it is loose it creates a greater fire risk. Larger binsIf you would like a larger 240 litre blue bin, contact the customer services network on (01482) 39 39 39. Available helpA pull-out service is available for residents who are physically unable to present their blue bin for collection, and where there is no-one over 14 years of age, in good health, living in the household.
