I Repeal of Existing Byelaw
This Byelaw repeals all previous Byelaws and substitutes the following Byelaws. -
II Application and Saving for Scientific Purposes
This Byelaw allows the Committee the discretion to permit fishing for scientific, stocking or breeding purposes. -
III Trawling: Provisions: Exceptions
This Byelaw sets out the conditions which vessels must satisfy to trawl within the Committee District and the requirement to obtain a Permit signed by the Clerk. -
IV Seine Net, Draw Net or `Snurrevaad`: Prohibition of
This Byelaw prohibits the use of any Seine net within the Committee`s 3 mile limit. -
V Push Net
This Byelaw requires that push nets are cleared every half hour. - VI Revoked

VIII Mussels: Minimum Size
This Byelaw stipulates the minimum size for mussels. - IX Revoked

X Shellfish: Re-Deposit of
This Byelaw requires that any shellfish, which is to be returned to the water by virtue of the conditions of a Byelaw or act of Parliament, should be returned as near as possible to the place where it was taken. -
XI Shellfish Beds: Regulation of
This Byelaw allows the Committee to place a temporary closure on any shellfish bed if required due to severely depleted stock levels. -
XII Shrimp and Prawn Fishing
This Byelaw requires that any net used in shrimp fishing is cleared every hour. - XIII Revoked

XIV Removal of Parts of Lobster from any Fishery: Prohibition of
This Byelaw prohibits the removal of parts of lobster from any fishery within the District. -

XVIII Fixed Engine Byelaw
This Byelaw amends previous regulations relating to fixed netting within the NESFC district. Key changes include a requirement that all fixed nets must be set seaward of the 5 metre depth contour line between 1 November to 25 March annually. A dispensation exists for cod and sole netting for all licensed registered vessels. With regard to sole netting, between 1 April to 31 August annually, sole nets must be placed seaward of the 5 metre contour line. The byelaw also establishes a dedicated permit scheme for catching sea bass using intertidal nets between Flamborough and Withernsea only. -
XIX Parts of Crab
This Byelaw prohibits the removal of parts of crab from any fishery. -
XX Prohibition on the use of Crab (Cancer Pagurus) For Bait
This Byelaw prohibits the use of edible crab for bait. -
XXI Protection of `V` Notched Lobsters
This Byelaw protects all `V` Notched Lobsters. -
XXII Permit to Fish for and Sell Lobster, Crab, Velvet Crab and Whelk
This Byelaw provides a management and information structure for the shellfishery within the District. -
XXIII Method and Area of Fishing (Dredges) Byelaw
This Byelaw sets out restrictions and conditions on the use of Dredges within the Committee`s District. -
XXIV Humber Estuary Cockle Fishery Byelaw
This Byelaw sets out the conditions relating to cockle fishing within the Committee`s District and the requirement to apply for a Cockle Permit. -
XXV Prohibition on Removal of TOPE or Parts thereof
This byelaw prohibits the removal from the district any TOPE or parts thereof and that they should be returned immediately to the sea. -
XXVII. Flamborough Head No Take Zone
The Committee for the North Eastern Sea Fisheries District, in exercise of its powers under section 5 of the Sea Fisheries Regulation Act 1966 has made the following Byelaw: This byelaw applies to that part of the district within an area known as the Flamborough Head Special Area of Conservation.
