East Riding Training Services (ERTS) provides training and development for all young people between 16 and 18 years who are not in full-time education or training.  They can access training and development within a recognised framework of qualifications at no cost to themselves because it is funded through the Learning and Skills Council.  Young people who are between 19 and 25 may also be eligible for work-based learning if they have not previously benefited from higher education.

 

Learners can apply for an Education Maintenance Allowance, click on the website link below: 

 

 or they are paid by an employer.

 

The service also provides development and progression opportunities for 14 to 19 year olds in line with the Government’s strategy for vocational education.  This involves mentoring support, personal development activities, skills training and guidance into appropriate next steps for young people.

 

We have access to a large number of employment and on-the-job training activities.  We are able to provide off-the-job training, development, assessment and support to learners and their employers across the whole of the East Riding. We run programmes throughout the year, therefore enrolment can be arranged at any time.
