Volume
The centre can calibrate volume measures and pipettes from 1 ml to 50 litres.

Most of the work done with volumetric calibration is providing the weights and measures inspectors of six local authorities with accurately calibrated equipment when they carry out inspections on petrol forecourts or licensed premises.

Calibrations are done gravimetrically and calculated taking into account water temperature, vessel temperature and air density.

All calibrations are traceable to National Standards and details of this traceability are included in the certificates.
