The East Riding Safeguarding Children Board (ERSCB) replaces the Joint Hull and East Riding Area Child Protection Committee (ACPC) and will build on the areas of the ACPC that worked well but it will be different. The ERSCB has a new statutory duty to co-ordinate local safeguarding requirements and more importantly to ensure their effectiveness
The new structure has created an opportunity for our local area to take a strategic lead in ensuring that there are appropriate arrangements at a local level. Other important changes are the new statutory members such as Connexions and Health Authority.
The ERSCB is responsible for producing Safeguarding Procedures based on national guidelines set out in the Working Together to Safeguard Children. It monitors the effectiveness of the procedures systemically and amends them as it becomes necessary.
Visit the ERSCB website for further information.
