The following course fees will apply from September 2008. Any course that runs over two terms can be paid in two instalments per academic year, paying half in or before the first class in September 2008 and the remaining half in or before the first class in January 2009. For courses lasting more than 35 weeks contact your local centre. The cost of the course appears in the left hand column. For accredited courses there are two possible fees: full or free, depending upon fee waivers (see below). For non-accredited there is full fee or 50% reduction depending on certain criteria (see below). The cost of accreditation appears at the end, for example: +£32.
A Learner Support fund is available if you have a reduced income but don't fit into any of these categories (see Learner Support web page).
Accredited Courses
These are courses which lead to a qualification and they are indicated by a letter C at the end of the course code. Learners taking these courses will be expected to take the accreditation, the cost of which is indicated in the left hand column, to be paid at the time of enrolment. The accreditation costs were correct at time the programme was printed, but may be subject to change.
1. Aged 16-18 at the time of enrolment
2. Learners on their first full Level 2 qualification
3. 19-25 year old learners studying their first full Level 3 qualification
4. In receipt of income based benefits:
5. In receipt of Job Seekers' Allowance (contributions-based)
6. The unwaged dependants of those listed above.
7. Offenders who are serving their sentence in the community.
8. Those taking Skills for Life courses, excluding English for Speakers of Other Languages.
9. Asylum seekers who are deemed eligible and are in receipt of the equivalent of income based benefit (assistance under the terms of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999) and their dependants.
Non-accredited Courses
These are courses which do not lead to a qualification. The fee categories which apply to these courses are:

unemployed learners in receipt of Job seekers Allowance (income based );

learners in receipt of income based benefits (formerly means tested) the main being: council Tax benefit, Income

Support, Housing Benefit (not including single person occupancy relief);

learners in receipt of working tax credit and with a household income less than £15.050 p.a.;

learners in receipt of Pension Credit (Guarantee Credit only);

the unwaged dependants of categories 1-4 above (as defined by JobCentre Plus);

Asylum Seekers in receipt of the equivalent of income based benefit (assistance under the terms of the Immigration and Asylum Act) and their dependants (as defined by Job Centre Plus);

learners aged 16-18 at the time of enrolment, providing proof of eligibility is brought at enrolment;
PLEASE NOTE
All learners claiming a fee concession will be required to show evidence of their benefit (Pension Credit or Tax Credit award notice - original only as photocopies cannot be accepted) or proof of age (passport, driver’s licence or ID card).
