Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment

The Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment is an extensive survey of existing and potential housing sites in the East Riding. It will be used as part of a vital evidence base for the Local Development Framework, particularly the Core Strategy DPD and Allocations DPD. The SHLAA document will also replace our annual monitoring report (the ‘Housing Land Position Statement’) from next year onwards.

The settlements selected for consideration in the SHLAA are identified in the Development Plan (and Smaller Settlements DPD - Preferred Options) as suitable locations for some form of development. The sites identified in the SHLAA have been assessed against a number of criteria to establish whether they are: suitable, available and achievable.
