EDRs should get employees and line managers sitting down together, regularly and in private, to talk about how things are going and how they can be improved. Remember, this is a confidential process.
There should be no interruptions to the meeting and an appropriate time scale should be allowed.
Opportunity should be given to talk about:-

the employee's role in the school

what makes the role work well
-
what have been the real achievements over the last year
-
what support/training/development would be useful
