Council Tax
Council tax is a tax set by councils to help pay for local services, such as education, libraries, social services and refuse collection.
11% of the total council tax you pay goes to the Humberside Police Authority and 5% goes to the Humberside Fire Authority. Most residents also pay an additional amount for their parish or town council and in some areas for special expenses.
This section provides information about how your council tax is calculated (Council Tax Billing and Council Tax Valuation Bands), how to pay your council tax ( Council Tax Payments), reductions, appeals, reminders and what happens if you do not pay your bill (Council Tax Recovery of Non-Payment, Council Tax Summons, Council Tax Liability Order, Council Tax Attachment of Earnings, Council Tax Deductions, Council Tax Bailiffs and Council Tax Committal to Prison).
The section also covers Visiting Officers and Change in Circumstances.
