The UK Parliamentary Election took place on 6 May 2010. There were three parliamentary constituencies wholly in the East Riding and the results were:
Beverley & Holderness
Graham Charles Stuart (Conservative) - Duly elected with 25,063 votes
East Yorkshire
Gregory Knight (Conservative) - Duly elected with 24,328 votes
Haltemprice & Howden
David Michael Davis (Conservative) - Duly elected with 24,486
Two other constituencies were partly in the East Riding. These are Hull West & Hessle and Brigg & Goole. Arrangements for the election to these constituencies were managed by Hull City Council and North Lincolnshire Council respectively.
WILLERBY AND KIRK ELLA BY-ELECTION
Due to a casual vacancy on the East Riding of Yorkshire Council a by-election took place to fill the vacant seat for Willerby and Kirk Ella Ward. The by-election also took place on Thursday 6 May 2010. Councillor Fred Smith of the Liberal Democrat Party was duly elected as Ward Councillor for Willerby and Kirk Ella.

General Election 2005
The results for the 2005 General Election were as follows:
Beverley and Holderness - Graham Stuart (Conservative) elected. Majority 2,580.
East Yorkshire - Greg Knight (Conservative) elected. Majority 6,283.
Haltemprice and Howden - David Davis (Conservative) elected. Majority 5,116.
