We collect sources relating to the history of the East Riding so that they are available for research. We opened our service in the Treasure House in January 2007 and we now include sources previously held by the Beverley Local Studies Library and the East Riding Archives. These records provide a unique, irreplaceable and valuable resource.
These sources are part of the whole community's heritage and are relevant to all of us. They provide information about our past history but they also contain evidence that helps to define a community’s rights.
If you would like to trace the history of your family, your house or local community, or if you are working on a school or college project, then we may be able to help you. You can also get involved by becoming a volunteer and working on projects to make the East Riding’s heritage more accessible.
