The Archives of the Landed Gentry: The Strickland-Constables of Wassand Hall Case Study

This teaching resource pack focuses on the Strickland-Constables and their family archives, which are kept at the Treasure House.

The creation of this resource was made possible by a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund for a project called Blood, Thunder and High Society: the Strickland-Constables of East Yorkshire, which ran during 2007.

The archival documents and notes in this resource can be used as a focus for a local study or as part of a larger study focusing, for example, on Victorian Britain.
