Conservation Workshop

The fit-out of the conservation workshop in the Treasure House has recently been completed. You can see the conservators at work through the viewing window, which is just off the main entrance of the Treasure House.

We hold many beautiful, old and fragile documents, books and historical objects that need conservation and repair.

A volume from the Register of Deeds is on display in the viewing window to show you how damaged some documents can get.

East Riding Archives and Local Studies – a top rated service!

The National Archives assess all local authority archive services in England and Wales. Under this accreditation scheme the East Riding Archives and Local Studies Service has been awarded a 3 star rating.

This is the highest possible award that the National Archives makes. It means that we are in the top 10% of archive services in the country.

If you want to find out more about our National Archives accreditation then go to our Service Planning and Performance page.
