Summer Scorcha is the Sport and Play Development Service's summer holiday programme, which provides a wide variety of play and sporting activities for children and young people aged 0 to 19.
Children and young people across the East Riding can enjoy a variety of fun-filled inclusive sport and play activities to keep them active during the summer holidays. There are various activities children and young people can do at the Community Play Ranger sessions from noisy games to quiet fun, jewellery and mask making, juggling and team games - and there will be lots of opportunities for children to have free play time where they get to decide how and what they would like to play with. So if you fancy having your face painted, building a den or playing parachute games, then come down and join us!
This year the Community Sports Coaches have teamed up with Extended Services to provide a range of exciting activities for young people, which include ultimate sport days, trampolining camps, beach sports friday, outdoor adventure camps and 3 v3 soccer!
The coaches and play rangers will encourage children to become more active, meet new friends, find new interests and have lots of fun.
We also arrange sport and play sessions specifically for children with a disability and work in partnership with voluntary sporting clubs to promote their activities through the Summer Scorcha programme.
The Schools Out brochure will be available to download from this site at the beginning of June, so watch out for it! Alternatively, it's also available in the June edition of East Riding News.
