The East Riding Active Walking Challenge is a new scheme to try and encourage more children to take part in physical activity through walking.  The challenge encourages children to keep a record of their participation; enables measurement of participation levels and by offering recognition through the reward scheme, encourages children to become more active.

Walk Leader training for the scheme is provided through the Walking the Way to Health initiative and is offered to teachers and support staff providing them with the necessary knowledge to lead a walk.  Through taking part in the training the school will have a variety of different walking routes organised for them helping pupils of all ages and abilities to take part.

If you would like further information regarding the scheme please contact Stuart Claridge 01482 392512 or email stuart.claridge@eastriding.gov.uk.
