The Energy Saving Trust(EST)

The Energy Saving Trust (EST) was set up after the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, to help reduce CO2 emissions in the UK. It is a non-profit organisation funded by governments and the private sector.

The Affordable Warmth Programme

The Affordable Warmth Programme...sees Transco working with Government and key agencies to improve the level of comfort in up to one million homes from the social housing sector (local authorities and housing associations) through facilitating the installation of efficient gas central heating systems.

National Energy Action (NEA)

National Energy Action (NEA) develops and promotes energy efficiency services to tackle the heating and insulation problems of low-income households. Working in partnership with central and local government.

National Home Energy Rating is the UK's largest energy rating scheme. With over 10 years experience and a dynamic range of software, the NHER provides limitless solutions to all aspects of home energy saving.

The Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE)

The Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE) is a charitable company, which was established in 1979. We provide a combination of skills that bring together an understanding of national energy policy with practical experience of delivering local and regional initiatives.

The Low Carbon Building Programme

This programme will run over 3 years and replaces the previous DTI renewable grant programmes.

 

There are two streams of grant funding:- stream one for householders and stream two for medium and large microgeneration projects by public, not for profit or commercial organisation. The grants depend on a renewable technology being installed.

The Home Heat Helpline

An independent telephone service that helps people who are strugggling to pay their energy bills or keep warm in the winter.

 

They can provide advice on keeping warm in the winter. They can provide on keeping warm and using energy efficiently as well as social tariffs, payment plan options and how thoses with special needs can become a priority service customer.
