Blue Bins

The Green and the Blue Logo

With a few exceptions, every household in the East Riding should now have a 140 litre blue recycling bin. With this bin you can recycle food and drink cans, paper and plastic bottles.

Please remember to wash and squash your cans and plastic bottles, then places them into separate tied carrier bags and pop them in your blue bin. This way, your bin and the paper inside stays cleaner, it's easier for us to sort your waste and in general makes the whole process more pleasant and hygienic.

Your blue bin is collected once every 4 weeks as indicated by the colour-coded collection calendar we produce. If you don't have a collection calendar, see our printable version [pdf:40kb] or call us and we'll send one through the post. Please ensure your bin is out no later than 7am on the day of collection or it may be missed!

Alternatively, put your bin out the night before if this is more convenient. If you still find it difficult to remember, why not join our free Blue Bin text message reminder service.

If you are finding your blue bin insufficient for your recycling needs, you can request a larger 240 litre blue bin online or by calling us on 01482 393939.
