Real Nappies

Household waste

“Nappies don’t have to cost the earth!”

Nappy Facts:

  • Eight million disposable nappies are discarded into landfill every day in the UK.
  • A disposable nappy can take anywhere from 200 to 500 years to decompose.
  • About 4% of all landfill is made up from disposable nappies.
  • The average baby goes through about 4,500 nappies in the first 2 and a half years of their life.
  • It takes about one cup of crude oil to produce the plastic in each disposable and it takes as much energy to produce one throwaway nappy as it does to wash a cloth nappy over 150 times.

Reusable nappy technology has come a long way in the last 10 years.

Instead of the expensive, dull, and difficult to fit cloth nappies of yesteryear, present day reusable nappies, fit better, are patterned with bright colours and can over a short period of time save you a great deal of money.
