Rubbish collections - residential

East Riding of Yorkshire Council blue bin

We will collect rubbish and recycleable materials weekly or bi-weekly depending on the type of bin provided.

 

Bin collection dates

Please use our new postcode search to find out your collection dates for blue, brown and green bins.

Blue bins

The kerbside blue wheeled bins are used for recyclable materials such as newspapers, steel food cans, glossy magazines and plastic bottles.

 

Blue bins are provided free of charge and collected every four weeks.

Brown bins

The brown bin is for the recycling of garden waste.

 

All households in the East Riding should have the opportunity to have a brown bin for garden waste by the end of 2009.

 

The announcement of the roll out was made by East Riding of Yorkshire Council in July 2008. It followed the success of the trial held across 20,000 households in Driffield and Haltemprice.

Green bins

The green bin is used for the collection of domestic waste. Collections are made on a weekly basis between Monday and Thursday.
