If you find it difficult to remember to put your blue bin out for collection, then why not join our text message reminder service? Once you have joined, we will send you a text message, once a month, the day before your blue bin collection is due, to remind you to put your bin out.
How to join
To join the service please text the word blue, followed by the 2 digits shown (e.g. blue11 with no spaces) on the top left hand side of your calendar to 07786 200401. The code is related to the calendar number - for example residents on calender 1 need to text blue01.
If you do not have your calendar handy you can find out the code you need to text by using the postcode search below to view your blue bin calendar.
If you have successfully subscribed you will receive a confirmation message, please check that the calendar number in the message matches the number in the top left of your calendar.
To cancel the service please text STOP to 07786 200401.
Any problems with the service please phone the recycling hotline on (01482) 395586.
FAQs
What if I want to stop my reminder text message?
Text in the word "stop" to 07786 200401. This will unsubscribe you from from the service.
Changing your mobile phone number
If at any time you change mobile phone number then you should, if possible, first of all unsubscribe your old number from our service (see above). This will prevent your old number from receiving the reminder messages when someone else takes on that number. You then need to re-subscribe to the service from your new mobile phone number as outlined above.
Moving House
Sometimes if you move house, your blue bin collection round might change. If this happens, you will need to stop the reminder messages (see above) and then rejoin the service using the code corresponding to your new blue bin collection calendar as outlined above.
