Welcome

What are safety cameras?

Mobile Unit

Safety Cameras include mobile and fixed speed cameras and are used to detect the speed vehicles are travelling at. Red light traffic cameras are used to detect if vehicles "jump" or go through traffic lights when they are still on red.

At the current time Humberside Safety Camera Partnership has 5 fixed camera sites, 81 mobile sites and whilst we have no red traffic light sites at the present time we will use them in appropriate places in the future.

The Humberside Safety Camera Partnership has identified 87 core locations throughout the region that are collision hot spots. These core sites have a history of crashes where people have been injured and have a problem with speeding traffic.

The Partnership has to submit a list of locations each year to Government who has the final say on the safety camera sites. Speed enforcement will take place on a regular basis at all these sites throughout the region.
