When is Sewerby Hall and Gardens open?
The Estate is open all year round from dawn until dusk. The Hall is open Easter to the end of September each year. Limited opening times in October. The Hall opening hours are generally 11.00am until 5.00pm.
Where is Sewerby Hall & Gardens?
Sewerby Hall & Gardens is located 2 miles North of Bridlington in Sewerby Village.
What are the admission prices?
The admission prices for the 2011 season are: Adults £4.50, Over 60`s £3.70, Children (3-15yrs) £2.50, Family Ticket (includes 2 adults and up to 3 children) £14.00. For organised, pre-booked groups of twenty or more, admission charges are reduced by 25%. During the seven weeks of the Summer Holidays there is a small surcharge on admission prices.
When do the admission prices start and end?
The admission prices to the Estate start at Easter and finish at the end of September.
How do I organise a group or school visit?
Details about group and school bookings are available in the `Visiting Information` section of our website. Please download the appropriate form and follow the instructions. Alternatively, please contact the Estate Office should you require a form posting to you.
How much are season passes?
The 2011 price for season passes are as follows: Adult/Concessions £14.50, Children £7.50, Family Pass £42.00 (includes 2 adults and up to 3 children). Our new Business Season Passes cost £50.00 for adults, £35.00 for children (3-15yrs) and £150.00 for a family (includes 2 adults and up to 3 children).
What are the opening times of the car park?
The Sewerby Hall and Gardens car park is locked overnight throughout the year. Depending on seasonal daylight hours it is opened at 8.30am and closed between 4.30pm and 8.00pm.
Where is the cafe? Where can I get a drink?
The cafe is located in the Clock Tower Tea Rooms adjacent to the Hall. Our `Grab N Go` service is available in the Courtyard and is open subject to weather conditions. The golf refreshment kiosk by the putting green also sells drinks and snacks on weekends and school holidays.
Where are the public toilets?
The public toilets are situated in the courtyard adjacent to the Hall. There are also toilets in the Clock Tower Tea Rooms and the Hall itself.
Where can we store our pushchairs?
There is a secure store on the ground floor of the Hall. Please contact the Hall Attendants on duty.
Why do you allow people in wheelchairs to go around the house and not pushchairs?
To comply with the Disability Discrimination Act we are required to offer the disabled visitors the same experience as able bodied visitors although, for their safety, the number of wheelchair users who visit the Hall are limited according to the number of Hall staff on duty. Pushchairs are barred for fire safety reasons. .
When are the Tea Rooms open?
The Tea Rooms are open all year round. Opening and closing times are subject to weather conditions. Please see the Clock Tower Tea Rooms web page for further details.
When is the golf course open? What are the opening times?
The pitch and putt golf course is open from Easter to the end of October each year. Club hire times vary according to the time of year. Please contact the Sewerby Estate Office on Bridlington (01262) 673769 for further details.
What time does the Land Train run?
During the peak season the trains run approximately every twenty to thirty minutes. Times vary during off peak. Please contact the Foreshores Office on 01262 678255 for further details.
Where is the Land Train stop?
The train stop is situated outside the paybox on the cliff-top adjacent to the cricket field. The train runs to the Coastguard Station at Limekiln Lane and then further on to Bridlington Leisure World.
What is in the Children's Zoo?
The Children’s Zoo contains Penguins, Llamas, Monkeys, Deer, Wallabies and much more.
Do you have a Children's play area?
Yes, the Children’s play areas are adjacent to the Clock Tower Tea Rooms beside the main drive.
How do we get to the gardens (from the Hall)?
The formal and walled gardens are situated to the east of the Hall, beside the pitch and putt golf course. Please follow the signs.
What crafts are there in the Courtyard Craft Outlets?
There are a hand-made candle / wax products unit, a hand-crafted jewellery shop and a hand-crafted wood furniture unit.
Do you hold Civil Weddings? Do you hire rooms out?
Yes. The Hall has three rooms available to hire for meetings, seminars, craft fairs and workshops etc and two rooms to hire for civil wedding ceremonies. Please see the Weddings or Functions web pages.
Is there a bus into Bridlington or Flamborough?
Yes, there is a bus stop located outside the main car park entrance on Church Lane. Regular services run to Bridlington and Flamborough.
Where is the nearest petrol station?
The nearest Petrol Stations are in Flamborough or Bempton Village if heading North or Scarborough Road roundabout on the A165 on the outskirts of Bridlington.
Where is the nearest cash point?
The Co-operative store on Wheatley Drive (near the automated level crossing on Sewerby Road) has one.
How is Sewerby Hall and Gardens linked to Flamborough Lighthouse?
We work in partnership with Trinity House to provide both a visitor attraction and an educational venue.
When is the Children's Zoo open and what is the admission charge?
The Children’s Zoo is open all year round (except Christmas Day). Times vary according to seasonal daylight hours. Admission is included during the Estate charging period (Easter through to end of September). An admission charge of £2.25 per adult and £1.10 per child applies from October to March when the zoo is open subject to weather conditions.
