Services
The Council runs two Children's residential homes within the East Riding for children and young people for whom foster care is not their choice, or appropriate at that stage in their lives.
The homes cater for children from the age of five to eighteen year of age. They provide:
- Stability
- Consistency
- Opportunity
- Promote family relationships
- Education
- Transition into adulthood
Through the skilled work of the staff, these services help children to come to terms with their distress, return to families or to move onto permanent alternative care. They are always working towards returning children to their families, where possible or onto foster homes or moving into independence.
How to access the services available
If you would like to discuss these or any of the services mentioned in more detail please visit anyone of our 13 Customer Service Centres where a referral form can be completed and forwarded to the Social Service's department. The Care Management team will then assess your eligibility for services provided by the Council. If you are eligible for any services an assessment is undertaken. Based on your needs a Care Plan will be compiled and a Care Co-ordinator will determine how the services are to be implemented/provided.
Please note that you may be required to pay for some services within your Care Plan. Click on Service Charges for more details.
