How we help
- We provide residential homes. Some people live here for long periods, others come for short stays to give the people who usually care for them a break.
- We support people at home, or can visit to give advice and practical help.
- We run day centres to help people with learning disabilities to develop new skills and give the people who care for them a break.
- We provide a wide range of opportunities to meet people's assessed needs and activities which encourage the development of social skills, communication skills, choice and the promotion of self confidence.
- All activities are designed to develop self determination, self reliance and increase independence in all aspects of daily living and are considerate of individuals privacy and dignity, and treat people with respect at all times.
- All activities are designed to be fun as well as stimulating.
- We work in partnership with other agencies to provide effective services to individual.
The initial 6 - 8 weeks of service is one of on-going assessment. A review at this point will agree the main needs of service user and a programme of activities is jointly decided. This is usually known as the Individual Care Programme. The process then becomes one of planning, implementation and review.
