Blue bin email reminder launch
== Mon 7th January ==
East Riding of Yorkshire Council launches its free email scheme this month to help residents to remember to put out their blue recycling bins.
Research shows that forgetting when to put out the blue bins is preventing residents from recycling all their paper, cans and plastic bottles.
Residents get a free email reminder during the afternoon on the day before their bin is due to be collected.
It is part of the council’s Target 45+ campaign to encourage residents to recycle at least 45 per cent of their household waste.
The scheme works in a similar way to the innovative text message reminder launched by the council last year.
To subscribe to the blue bin email reminders you will need an activated MyEastriding account. If you do not already have an account, please register using the following link : Sign up for MyEastriding.
