02 September 2010	East Riding Youth Dance in Beverley is now fully subscribed for 11 to 13-year-olds but there are still places available at other venues. Co-ordinated by East Riding of Yorkshire Council, the project includes weekly sessions with professional artists working towards performances each term. East Riding Youth Dance also gives young people the opportunity to learn from the country’s leading professional dance companies in workshops and live performances.
01 September 2010	Seventy years ago this summer, Goole-born artist Reuben Chappell died at his home at Par in Cornwall aged 70. During his lifetime, it is estimated that he painted around 12,000 pictures of the sailing ships and steamers which sailed in and out of the port of Goole and (after 1905 when he moved south because of ill-health) the little harbours of southern Cornwall.
