The notice has been published today announcing that a by-election will be held for a Member of Parliament in the Haltemprice and Howden constituency on Thursday, 10 July.

Nomination papers will be accepted from 10am on Tuesday, 24 June until 4pm on Thursday, 26 June by appointment only. The council will make public the list of nominations as soon as possible after 4pm on 26 June.

Electors and their proxies should note that applications to vote by post must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Wednesday, 25 June.

Application to appoint a proxy should be lodged with the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Wednesday, 2 July.

All applications and notices regarding absent voting must be sent to the Electoral Registration Officer, County Hall, Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire, HU17 9BA.

Polling booths will be open on election day from 7am to 10pm.

The count will be held at Haltemprice Leisure Centre.

Voters with queries should contact the council’s Electoral Registration Service on (01482) 393312 and 393313.
