Story
The council is advising motorists and residents that Collett Transport Limited are soon to start transporting wind turbines manufactured by Nordex for installation at the new A165 Lissett wind farm. Altogether, 12 wind turbines will be transported from Goole Docks to the new wind farm site south of Lissett village (A165 south of Bridlington), starting on 21st November. The journeys are expected to be completed in January 2009. Each turbine consists of seven pieces of up to 48m in length. In total there will be 84 abnormal load movements. The agreed route of the movements is Goole Docks, A161 - Normandy Way - Anderson Road - Rawcliffe Road, M62-J36, M62 Eastbound, A63 Eastbound, A15 - Humber Bridge Rdbt, A164 Northbound - Jocks Lodge, A1079 - Killingwoldgraves Rdbt, A1035 - Dog Kennel Lane - Malton Road - Molescroft Rdbt - Driffield Rdbt - Beverley North Eastern Bypass - Swinemoor Lane Rdbt - Routh Village - White Cross Rdbt, A165 - Beeford Village - Lissett Windfarm. Each movement will be accompanied by a police escort and will be undertaken in pairs outside peak traffic hours to minimise disruption. To facilitate the movements, on this route advance works including the temporary removal of street furniture on the A164 and outskirts of Beverley have already been undertaken. For further information, contact John McCann, senior engineer, on (01482) 395653.
