AdminHistoryThe Bessingby estate was accumulated by the Hudson family during the years following the sale of the manor from Christopher Goulton to John Hudson in 1765. The name Bessingby Hall occurs as early as 1767 but a new Hall was built for Harrington Hudson in 1807 to a design by Thomas Cundy. In 1868 the Bessingby estate, which consisted of the Bessingby Hall and 1067 acres of land was purchased by George Wright, a Hull merchant involved in the oil seed crushing industry.
