AdminHistoryThe Borough Council of North Wolds was formed in April 1974 under the terms of the 1972 Local Government Act. It was re-designated as the Borough Council of East Yorkshire in March 1981. A shadow authority titled the District Council of North Wolds was created in June 1973. The Council functioned until it was disbanded under local government reorganisation in March 1996 when all of its functions were transferred to the new East Riding of Yorkshire unitary authority. East Yorkshire Borough Council consisted of the following civil parishes: Allerthorpe, Bainton, Barmby Moor, Barmston, Beeford, Bempton, Bielby, Bishop Wilton, Boynton, Bugthorpe, Burton Agnes, Burton Fleming, Carnaby, Catton, Cottam, Cottingwith, Driffield, Everington, Fangfoss, Fimber, Flamborough, Foston, Fridaythorpe, Full Sutton, Garton, Goodmanham, Grindale, Harpham, Hayton, Huggate, Hutton Cranswick, Kelk, Kilham, Kirby Underdale, Kirkburn, Langtoft, Londesborough, Market Weighton, Melbourne, Middleton, Millington, Nafferton, Newton on Derwent, North Dalton, North Frodingham, Nunburnholme, Pocklington, Rudston, Sancton, Seaton Ross, Shipton Thorpe, Skerne and Wansford, Skipsea, Skirpenbeck, Sledmere, South Cliffe, Stamford Bridge, Sutton upon Derwent, Thornton, Thwing, Tibthorpe, Ulrome, Warter, Watton, Wetwang, Wilberfoss, Wold Newton and Yapham.
