We know everyone’s accessibility needs are different, and that can mean that a trip away from home takes a bit of planning.

Deciding where to go

East Yorkshire is a beautiful county with many wonderful things to do. Whether you’d like to get out and see the sights, take part in a local activity or join a local group, here are some suggestions of where to look for ideas.

Reasonable adjustments

Employers, services and education providers have a legal duty to remove the barriers you face because of a disability. This can allow you have the same access as someone who is not disabled. You can find out more about their duty to make reasonable adjustments on the Citizen’s Advice website.

Requesting an adjustment

If you feel at a disadvantage while using a service, for example because there are steps at the entrance or a lack of seating for you to rest, you can ask for adjustments to be made.
