Business rates

Business rates is the commonly-used term for non-domestic rates. Non-domestic rates are charged on most non-domestic premises, including commercial properties such as shops, offices, pubs, warehouses, and factories. The council calculates and collects non-domestic rates on behalf of central government. The money raised is then used to help fund local services like the police and fire and rescue services.
