Overview of grants provided by Government

Information about which grant your business is eligible to claim.

What support is the government providing during the local and national restrictions?

The Government have provided a range of grants available to business where they have been mandated to close or remain open but are severely impacted by the local and national restrictions, whilst they remain in place.

On 4 January 2021, government placed the county into national lockdown, meaning that businesses who were open are now mandated to close. Government also announced an additional one-off grant payment to closed business. The council will automatically make payments to eligible businesses where we already have a valid application.

The following grants are available to businesses impacted by local and national restrictions:

  • Local Restriction Support Grant for Open businesses (LRSG Open) this is currently suspended due to the national lockdown, businesses who are now closed.
  • Local Restriction Support Grant for Closed businesses, which includes business who are mandated to close, but are operating a take away or click and collect service (LRSG Closed)
  • Additional Restrictions Grant discretionary scheme for businesses not eligible to claim the above grants, based on eligibility criteria (ARG)
  • Local Restriction Support Grant  for Sector businesses, which are closed since 23 March 2020 such as nightclubs (LRSG Sector)
  • Christmas Support Grant for wet-led pubs (CSG)

For more information on each grant and how to apply, click on the relevant grant on the main page.

Due to the complexity of grants, the information below aims to advise businesses which grant they can claim and what application form they are required to complete.
