What does the food standards team do?

  • Identifying and preventing the supply of counterfeit and substituted foods (e.g. substitution of meat and counterfeit spirits)

  • Food fraud (e.g. misleading claims)

  • Chemical contamination of food

  • Food labelling (ensure food is accurately labelled and as described)

  • Food quality

  • Feed hygiene and safety (helping to ensure that the food we eat is safe from farm to fork)
