Environmental requirements

Information on energy efficient labels, packaging, when to get an energy performance certificate and advice on environmental requirements.

What requirements are there covering the packaging I use in my business?

We are currently in the process of updating this content providing information on the packaging used by businesses from the point of view of minimising the environmental impact and apologise for any inconvenience. We hope to have updated information in place shortly.

When do I need to have an energy performance certificate for premises I am selling or renting out?

Sellers, landlords or agents must ensure, in most cases, they have a valid energy performance certificate when advertising property for sale or rent.

Guidance on energy performance certificates for sellers, buyers, landlords and tenants can be found on the Communities and Local Government (CLG) website.
