Children and Families Partnership Board

The East Riding Children and Families Partnership Board has the senior partnership responsibility for policy, strategy and achievement in services for children, young people and their families. It champions effective partnership working, enabling local statutory and voluntary agencies to recognise shared priorities and to work together effectively, to deliver a real difference to the outcomes of children, young people and their families.

The Board embeds the voice of children and young people, parents and carers throughout its work. Their involvement is vital to drive meaningful change when making decisions that profoundly impact their lives.

East Riding of Yorkshire Children and Families Strategic Plan 2025-30 (pdf 22.6mb)

The East Riding of Yorkshire Children and Families Strategic Plan outlines our overarching 5-year ambition, priorities and commitments to support and improve the outcomes for children and young people across the area.

The strategy has been developed collaboratively with our partners, who are keenly invested in realising its outcomes and all associated work involved. This is centred on extensive engagement and consultation with children, young people and families who play a crucial role in shaping the lives of children and young people. All their insights, experiences and perspectives are vital in ensuring that services are responsive, inclusive, and effective and are important to the work of this partnership.

To enable this to happen, we will do the following:

  • Ensure the voice of children and young people is represented in both strategic planning and service delivery across the partnership
  • Support families in making choices for children and young people
  • Continue to listen to children and young people and their families and respond to their feedback
  • Continue to challenge and support all educational settings to improve outcomes
  • Minimise barriers to learning, especially for those with a vulnerability
  • Ensure children and young people have access to advice needed to support the progression to adulthood and independence
  • Ensure that this plan informs the commissioning of health and care services locally, adopting a partnership approach to improve health outcomes for children and young people
  • Work with families most affected by poverty and its wider determinants
  • Direct opportunities for alignment of resources
  • Actively engage with other strategic theme boards
  • Regularly review of all services for children and young people to ensure that they continue to make a difference to their lives
  • Ensure effective safeguarding, especially for the most vulnerable.
