Best Start Family Hubs offer a wide range of free activities, groups, and advice sessions for families, from pregnancy onwards.

This kind of everyday help is called universal support - the first and most accessible type of help available to all families.

It is inclusive and open to all families, whenever you need it.

What universal support may look like

Universal support looks different for every family, depending on what you need.

For example, you may want to take part in:

• sessions that support you during pregnancy and the early days with your baby
• play sessions and group activities with your child
• inclusive activities that support children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
• parenting courses and support groups.

You may also want help with:

• your child's development, health and wellbeing
• your child's early communication skills
• practical matters like housing, finances and family life.

You can also have a one-to-one chat with a family help practitioner.
