What’s on at our family hubs

Midwife clinic (appointment only)

Anlaby Family Hub, First Lane, Anlaby, HU10 6UE

What it's about

Midwife clinics are clinics where you receive care during pregnancy and after your baby is born.

At the clinic, you are seen by community midwives who check your health and monitor your baby’s wellbeing, and support you through pregnancy, birth and early parenthood. They can also give advice, answer questions, and help you find other support if you need it.

This clinic is open to parents with their babies, and parents-to-be.

Why come along

As part of your antenatal care, your midwife may:

  • check your blood pressure and urine
  • listen to your baby’s heartbeat
  • check your baby’s growth and development
  • support birth planning and preparation
  • give advice about pregnancy and general health.

As part of your postnatal care, your midwife may:

  • check how you are recovering after birth
  • help with feeding your baby and give advice
  • show you how to care for your newborn
  • check your baby’s health and development
  • ask how you are feeling emotionally and offer support if needed
  • give information about early health checks for your baby.
