Play and learn: Storytime

Pocklington Library and Customer Service Centre, 23 Railway St, Pocklington, YO42 2QU

What it's about

Sharing stories with your child is one of the best ways to help them learn and grow.

Play and learn storytime is a fun, lively session for babies and toddlers. Through stories, actions and rhymes, your child will build early language skills and develop a love of books.

It is open to children aged four or under and anyone who cares for them, such as parents, foster carers or grandparents.

Why come along

At this session you can:

  • listen to colourful, engaging stories together
  • take part in simple actions and rhymes
  • help your child learn new words and build confidence in listening and communication
  • support your child's understanding of emotions and social interactions
  • enjoy a warm, welcoming space that encourages curiosity and creativity.

How to take part

The session is free, but you must book a place for each person (adult or child) who attends.

Places can be booked no earlier than seven days before each event. This is to make sure everyone has a fair chance to attend.
