Early communication course: Talk time

Withernsea Family Hub, Hull Road, Withernsea, HU19 2EQ

What it's about

Words and language take time, and some children need a bit more support to get there.

Talk time is a fun course held over six weeks. It is run in a small group and helps toddlers build their listening and talking skills.

It is open to children aged between 12 months and two years, and anyone who cares for them. This includes parents, foster carers and grandparents.

Why come along

In each session you will take part in simple play activities to help your child:

  • explore and copy early speech sounds
  • build attention skills
  • learn to take turns
  • choose between simple options, like toys or songs
  • develop eye contact.

It's also a chance to meet other families in a friendly, relaxed setting.
