Free online learning for parents and carers

You can now access the free Togetherness range of wellbeing and confidence-building learning modules for parents, carers, and teenagers.

The learning has been developed by NHS experts and is designed to fit around busy lives, to help you feel more informed, more connected and less alone.

Parenting can be tough - but you don’t have to do it alone

Every child is different. Every stage in a child’s life brings new challenges, to them and to the people who care about them.

Whether you're dealing with toddler tantrums, teenage moods, or just want to feel more confident as a parent, a little support can go a long way.

That's where our free online learning on the Togetherness website comes in.

Togetherness is the online NHS learning place for emotional health, child development and parenting.

Once you have created an account, you can complete the learning at your own pace. Each of the modules takes around 15 to 20 minutes to complete. Each subject contains several modules. 

Online learning that builds confidence and improves wellbeing

Created by clinical psychologists, health workers, and psychotherapists, these online pathways, structured like courses, support:

  • parents, parents-to-be, and carers
  • teenagers
  • grandparents.

The pathways include understanding:

  • pregnancy, labour, birth, and your baby
  • your brain (for teenagers)
  • your relationships (for adults)
  • your child, from toddler to teenager.

Pathways can be combined with face-to-face or online group sessions. Our family help service, in partnership with schools and other groups, deliver the pathways.

What is Togetherness?

Togetherness is an NHS emotional health team. The team shares proven teaching and learning about emotional wellbeing and preventative mental health.

Togetherness teaches lifelong skills. It gives people emotional strength and wellbeing. The approach is practical, easy to follow, and suitable for people from all backgrounds.

How to register for an account

You can access all of the online learning on the Togetherness website, for free, by using the code PUFFIN and registering an account.

  1. Remember the access code PUFFIN.

  2. Go to the registration page on the Togetherness website and complete the registration form.

  3. Once your account has registered, enter the access code PUFFIN in the Apply Access Code field, on your personal account dashboard, and select Apply Code.

  4. You will be asked to register for the PUFFIN plan by filling in the online form.

  5. You’ll see the list of available learning opportunities.

Please note: If you previously had an account for the In Our Place website, you will receive instructions about changes to your login for the Togetherness courses.
