Barmby Moor Neighbourhood Plan 2022 - 2037

The Barmby Moor Neighbourhood Plan 2022-2037, prepared by Barmby Moor Parish Council, has been submitted to East Riding of Yorkshire Council for examination. The council must now publicise the plan proposal and accompanying documents and seek comments.

The Barmby Moor Neighbourhood Plan area covers the whole of the Civil Parish of Barmby Moor and provides general policies for development in Barmby Moor.

Important issues, on which the neighbourhood plan provides further planning policy and guidance, include:

• The physical separation of Barmby Moor from Pocklington and Pocklington Industrial Estate
• Protection of the Open Landscape Character of the Countryside Surrounding Barmby Moor
• Protection of Narrow Lanes and Grass Verges
• Protection and enhancement of existing Open Spaces in Barmby Moor
• Protection and enhancement of the special character and appearance of the Conservation Area in Barmby Moor
• Housing development
• Employment and Business Opportunities
• Provision of a Village Shop
• Protection of existing and encouragement of new Community Facilities and Services
• Supporting development which reduces environmental impact, protects and enhances the surrounding countryside, and protects and enhances the character and individual identity of Barmby Moor
• Supporting development that reduces car parking problems

Once adopted, the neighbourhood plan will become an important consideration in determining relevant planning applications within the Barmby Moor Neighbourhood Area.
