East Riding of Yorkshire Council and Hull City Council have prepared and are seeking representations on a Joint Minerals Local Plan Proposed Submission Document (the Plan). The Plan sets out detailed policies for the East Riding and Hull (the Plan area), against which applications for minerals development will be assessed. The Plan also sets out a number of allocations for mineral extraction in the Plan area.
Following this consultation, the consultation documents and all the representations received, will be submitted to the Secretary of State. The Secretary of State will appoint an Independent Planning Inspector who will hold an examination in public into the Plan to consider whether it meets the requirements of legal compliance, the duty to cooperate and soundness. The Plan, once adopted, will replace the existing Joint Minerals Local Plan that was adopted in January 2004.
