Brief description

From Monday 11 July 2022, the East Riding Health and Wellbeing Board is consulting with the public and key stakeholders for a period of 60 days about a Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment document to be published at the end of September 2022.The Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment is important because it considers health issues locally and looks at where pharmacies are located, what services they provide and whether there are any gaps in these services. The Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment is used by NHS England and Improvement to inform decisions about whether to approve applications to open new pharmacies, and in doing so, ensures there are the right number of pharmacies to serve the public, accessible within local areas.Pharmaceutical Needs Assessments may also be used by the NHS and other health commissioning bodies to make decisions on which funded services could be provided by local community pharmacies to help people improve their health.
