Review of Polling Districts and Polling Stations

Brief description

We are conducting a review of polling districts and polling places in accordance with the Electoral Registration and Administration Act of 2013. The aim of the review is to ensure a) the current polling districts and stations are appropriate for the areas that they cover, b) all electors have reasonable and practicable facilities for voting and c) that, as far as is reasonable and practicable, polling places are accessible to all electors, including those who are disabled.

By completing this survey you will be assisting the council in the identification of the most suitable venues for use as a polling station.

What you told us
Of the 19 responses, only one venue was felt to be unsuitable.Hedon Methodist Church was identified as a venue not suitable for voting as it was confusing having four polling stations in one room.
What we did next
As a result of the consultation, the recommendation is for no changes to the polling station venues. This proposal will be considered in Council Meetings, with a final decision being made in January 2020. For Hedon Methodist Church, there is usually an additional member of staff there to ensure electors are directed to the correct station. This can be reviewed to ensure that this happens.
