About the ward by-election

A by-election is an individual election held between regular/scheduled elections arising from vacancies. Ward elections are held to vote in ward councillors who sit on East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

Vacancies have arisen for the following wards:

East Wolds and Coastal
South East Holderness

To vote in a UK general election you must:

be registered to vote
be 18 or over on the day of the election (‘polling day’)
be a British, Irish, EU, or qualifying Commonwealth citizen
be registered at an address in the area you want to vote in
not be legally excluded from voting
