Find out more about the Tour de Yorkshire Community Fund and how to apply.

What is the Tour de Yorkshire Community Fund?

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has established a new small grant fund to help eligible communities in the East Riding to celebrate and enjoy the Tour de Yorkshire 2020 cycle race.

Stage 1 of the Men's race will start in Beverley on Thursday 30 April 2020 and pass through East Riding communities en route to the stage finish at Redcar.

More information about the race can be found on the Tour de Yorkshire page.

Who is eligible to apply for the Tour de Yorkshire Community Fund?

Eligible applicants are those parish and town councils through which the route of the Tour de Yorkshire cycle race passes.

See below to view a map of the race route and the eligible parish and town councils:

Parish and town councils may apply in partnership with other groups or organisations (e.g. schools, village hall associations) should they wish, as long as the town or parish council is the lead applicant. Parish and town councils are encouraged to liaise with other interested organisations within their communities before submitting an application.

What will the Tour de Yorkshire Community Fund support?

The fund will be available to help with the costs of events directly related to the Tour de Yorkshire cycle race, including community activities, street decorations, themed artwork or exhibitions.

Applicants can apply for a maximum of £500 and a minimum of £100 per project. Successful applications must demonstrate appropriate community benefit and/or community input.

The council also provided a community fund for the 2019 Tour de Yorkshire race which supported some excellent events across the East Riding. Please access the document below to see a summary of the projects supported by last year's fund:
