For the purposes of this consultation, ‘Sensory Impairment’ is a broad term which includes:
- People who have a visual or sight impairment and/or are registered blind
- People who are deaf, deafened or suffer from hearing loss
- People who have dual sensory loss, this is also known as deafblindness.
This consultation includes everyone who considers themselves to live with hearing and/or sight loss either as a genetic/birth condition; as a result of health conditions or as part of the ageing process or as a result of injury. We are interested to receive views from East Riding residents with varying levels of sensory impairment, ranging from mild to severe, so we can understand your experience, whatever that may be.
