What is the public protection enforcement policy?

The public protection enforcement policy sets out the arrangements that the council has put in place for ensuring compliance with the laws enforced by public protection services, such as food safety, health and safety, trading standards and environmental protection.

How does the council comply with the code of practice for regulators?

The council’s regulatory functions have a new duty to comply with the regulators code.

This affects a variety of council services including Trading Standards, Licensing, Food Safety and many more. The council has produced an explanation of how services will respond to the requirements of the code which is accessible below:
